Art of Selling Art in London

Yesterdays presentation went very well and there is even a blog post about it already on the net. Just want to say I look NOTHING like that picture and they must have gotten some odd person to stand in for me.

Meanwhile, while at the Hotel Novotel gift shop I suddenly was taken aback by their huge display of cigarettes. See if you find this as funny as I do? Sort of negative marketing? “Buy me, but don’t use me”?

You can see it even better in the little inset I added to the big picture.

I speak again on Saturday giving a Masters Class in using Corel Painter X. I am hoping there are plenty of people there with their laptops ready to go. Meanwhile, I can catch a few workshops and programs here myself and get some work done also. Weather is not great for going out, so I will enjoy my time seeing old friends here like Mitche Graf and others.

What a pleasure it was to meet you in person Marilyn – and I really learned such a lot from your workshop! Thank you so much.

I saw somewhere that you were asking about a MacBook laptop. That’s the one I had bought specially for your class, and it’s really a marvellous machine. I can recommend it. Get the black one – seems to be just as or even more powerful than the more expensive small Powerbook.

What a busy lady you are! I wish I had half your energy. Sounds like you are having a good time, teaching and learning alot!
Those look like Lucky Strikes! My dad used to smoke those when I was a little girl. Have not seen them in a very long time. Of course have not looked either.
    Stay safe!

Thanks Valerie! It is always a thrill to meet forum members in person and get to know them. Today I will post our picture. I have many new paintings I need to post also.

Carrie….I’m so glad you also enjoyed the ciggies picture. It really made me laugh how they sell them. We need to get together and meet some time soon!
