We have been tweeting some “Painter Cheats” on Twitter lately and @painter_mag started it all and called them Painter Cheats and that’s just such a great name, I have to cheat and use it too.

Here are some we have posted plus a few new ones not posted yet. Because we are tweeting these, they are all 140 characters or less and you need to learn to speak shorthand a little too!

Corel Painter Quick Tip: turn a blender brush 2 a painting brush by upping RESAT. Turn a painting brush to blender brush by lower RESAT 2 0

Need some Glow to your paintings? Use the F-X GLOW Brush to add glow. Works great in curly hair too bring out highlights!

Painting Eyes from Photographic Reference: The giveaway here is most forget to get rid of the photographic catchlights. Paint through those and add your own highlights instead. A brush I use for this is Fairy Dust or/and Dull Conte 8 with the opacity back to around 20%

Need Water Droplets? Use the LEAKY PEN! It’s a fun brush for creating watery scenes.
