Hard to believe that so much time has passed since I wrote my last post but those of you on my newsletter emailing know that no dust has been settling under me. Been hard at work getting back to my art and life and preparing for the crazy month ahead of exciting travel and workshops and events. I’m off to Raleigh for the North Carolina State Convention for a few days to see old friends and make new ones and lay the groundwork for my October event in Blowing Rock. But before that there are all the Asheville Art Workshops and Italy and VEGAS BABY for WPPI. Instead of my telling you all about this and all the cool FREE Corel Painter brushes that are online now, I’ll just send you to the newsletter so you can get all the links,discounts and news yourself. Been painting and painting and really enjoying myself again lost in the artwork. Here is a new painting done with some of my new brushes that are available for a FREE DOWNLOAD in the Digital Paint Shop. Just check out the FREEBIES area and find the Mar New Portrait brushes. How easy is that? Nothing better to play with than a set of Free Corel Painter Brushes is there?

These brushes all work in Painter X. Just be sure to load the CORRECT version for your system. MAC or PC. A BIG thank you to David Gell who I consider my Brush Genius and most helpful guru of brushes that helped to convert my new brushes to have them work in Painter X.

Was working on another one to use for new avatars and business cards and more and after three days of working on the other pose…trashed it to the “look at later” folder and started a totally different pose and painting and this one just flowed along easily. I am going to finish up some tweaks and details on it but wanted to get it out there to be seen!
Always remember that its okay to not finish if it’s not flowing…another day, another painting may just grab you and run!

I am getting back on my game and going back to my roots with colors in portrait paintings.This has been sitting in the “to be painted” folder for over a year and it just came together yesterday for me. I can’t wait to do another one!

Flemish Rub Brush plus much more “Goodies”

Corel has made it really easy now to get all the “goodies” that come on the CD with Painter even if you purchased it as a download version.
Here you can download all content goodies to go with your Painter 11 program! It’s organized and includes more than you thought you would get.

Here you can download tons of goodies to add to your software. The FLEMISH BRUSH is in the brushes under Painter 5 category.

Heres a play example of the Flemish Brush just experimenting with settings and colors.

But then I took it to a real painting and after creating a sketch of @Fletcher_Kitten using some ARKVIS SKETCH software and my own
enhancements I painted it with the Flemish Rub brush. You can find out more about ARKVIS SKETCH reading about it here on my blog under
the software section.

I will continue to explore and introduce you all to the goodies that are hidden in this great Corel download area! There are many
“oldie goldies” in there that new users have never seen! Have a painting party today!
